If you take a sandal wood and immerse it in water, we will not be able to smell its scent. But when taken out and cleaned, its smell permeates far away distances. Similarly a karma yogi by his practice of karma with a yoga buddhi, attains chitt shuddhi(purity of mind) and then sees the ever-evident consciousness in everything. What should be keep in view is the intense devotion one has towards the Self(atma). so that one may gain "Atma anugraham" in understanding Satyam(सत्यं) and mithyA(मिथ्या). He alone will be able to cut through the veil of maya(माया) and understand the superimposed duality on the nitya shuddha buddha advaita satya chaitanya vastu(नित्य शुद्ध बुद्ध अद्वैत सत्य चैतन्य वस्तु)
